How it Works
Navigating Family Law matters can be complex, but our virtual firm simplifies the process for uncontested cases and offers private confidential mediation for clients who need a little extra help reaching full agreement. Here's how it works:
For Uncontested Cases: Limited Scope Representation
If you and the other party already agree on all issues related to your Family Law matter, our Limited Scope Representation is the ideal solution. Here's what to expect:
-
One party hires us: To avoid conflicts of interest, we represent only one individual in these cases.
-
Tailored form preparation: We'll prepare all forms specific to the client who hired us, along with any joint forms except Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs). If a QDRO is needed, you will be referred to an attorney who specializes in QDROs. (Click here to learn more about QDROs.)
-
Self-service for the other party: We cannot prepare forms unique to the other party. However, we will provide blank forms that the other party can complete on his/her own.
-
Fully Informed: Ms. Nelson will ensure the client understands his or her rights and obligations prior to entering into an agreement.
-
Package options: You'll choose either the Limited Scope Divorce without Children or the Limited Scope Divorce with Children option, depending on your family's situation.

For Clients that Need Help Reaching Agreements: Private Confidential Mediation
If you and the other party think you can reach agreements on all issues but need help getting there, our Private Confidential Mediation Packages are designed for you. In these packages:
-
Neutral third-party assistance: Ms. Nelson acts as a neutral mediator to help both parties reach a full agreement.
-
Fully Informed: Ms. Nelson will educate both parties on the law. This ensures that both parties understand their rights and obligations prior to entering into an agreement.
-
Comprehensive form preparation: We will prepare all necessary legal forms for both parties except Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs). If a QDRO is needed, an attorney who specializes in QDROs will be needed. (Click here to learn more about QDROs.)
-
Package options: You'll choose either the Private Confidential Mediation without Children or the Private Confidential Mediation with Children option.

Important Note: Case Type Cannot Be Changed
It's crucial to understand that once a case begins as a Limited Scope Representation, it cannot be converted to Private Confidential Mediation if disagreements arise later. This would be considered a conflict of interest. Please choose the service that best reflects your current level of agreement with the other party.
