Private Confidential Mediation, with Ms. Nelson acting as a neutral facilitator, offers an empowering and efficient way to resolve Family Law disputes, allowing clients to reach mutually agreeable solutions in a private, legally protected setting. Ms. Nelson provides essential education on potential trial outcomes so the clients make educated decisions when reaching agreements. We prepare all necessary court forms (excluding QDROs, which require a jointly-retained expert), while emphasizing client control over customized agreements not typically available through litigation. The process maintains strict confidentiality, limiting communications to clients and jointly-retained experts, with the understanding that expert costs are separate. Private Confidential Mediation with Children
What's Included
1. Three hours of mediation time with Ms. Nelson in addition to the one hour initial consultation. Additional time can be purchased at Ms. Nelson's hourly rate of $200.
2. All court forms necessary from start to finish for both parties except those listed below under, "What's Not Included."
3. A comprehensive Marital Settlement Agreement based on the agreements reached in mediation.
What's Not Included
1. The cost of experts like real estate appraisers, business appraisers, QDRO attorneys, etc.
2. We do not prepare Qualifed Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs). If a QDRO is needed, an expert will be brought into the mediation process. Please see our FAQ page for more information about QDROs.
3. We do not prepare Title Transfer Documents related to real property (i.e., family home) and/or titled personal property (i.e., automobiles).
4. The filing fees for both parties (usually between $435-$450 for each party).
